Ty Sheaks has a proven track record of successful representation of clients in a wide variety of civil and commercial litigation matters, including toxic tort and complex products liability claims, medical malpractice, construction, litigation, labor/employment disputes, personal injury, collections, mergers/acquisitions, and general business litigations such as breach of contract. Mr. Sheaks also routinely advises clients in a variety of transactional matters, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating of complex contracts and agreements as well as business entity formation issues.
Representative Experience
- Defend contractual arbitration claims to a take nothing award in a seven-day arbitration proceedings when identical claims were subjected of a Claimant’s award in a previous and nearly identical hearing involving a different law firm.
- Successfully obtained several hundreds of thousands of dollars in collection matters of clients in the construction industry and telecommunication industry.
- Successfully and effectively developed and implemented defense strategy for over 100 toxic-tort personal injury and products liability in state and federal courts nationwide including large benzene exposure case dockets resulting in dismissal or cost-effective settlement of claims
- Successfully advised numerous clients in selection and formation of various entities, including drafting and negotiation of related organization agreements and contracts.
- Effectively drafted and negotiated hundreds of complex contracts and agreements including sales, acquisition, purchasing, leases for real property and equipment and non-disclosure agreements.
- Develop and implemented successful defense strategy for several medical malpractice claims against hospitals and individual care providers resulting in cost-effective settlement of claims.
- Applied common-sense approach in order to successfully obtain resolution of numerous and diverse litigation matters through mediation, arbitration or direct negotiation.
